Legal aspects
Marriage in the Slovak Republic is fully recognized by the powers that be for all nationalities from around the globe. Valid marriage certificates with all required stamps and official translation into your language will be provided to you in order to allow for the above mentioned recognition as well as proof for securing new passports etc.
Our team will make the paperwork easy for you, and direct you step by step. We will need all of the documents required for your wedding from your side. The office hours at most of the offices are on Mon and Wed only, so please note that you must arrive in Prague latest on Mon or Wed early morning.
In some cases the necessary documents that you are unable to obtain in your country might be arranged here in Slovakia. All fees and charges connected with the arrangement will be added to client’s budget. For more information do not hesitate to contact us.
General Legal Requirements:
- Full Birth Certificate (original or notarized copy)
- Certificate of No Impediment (contact your wedding planner for details)
- Divorce Decree Absolute (original or notarized copy)
- Death Certificate (for Widowed)
- Any documents on change of name or surname
- Certificate Of Temporary Residence in the Czech Republic
- Paperwork does vary from nationality to nationality (contact for details)
Documents required for a catholic ceremony (general legal documents also required):
- Baptism certificate
- Certificate of Marriage Preparation Course
- Letter of delegation from your priest
- Bishop's dispense in case only one of you is a member of the church.
- These documents do not need any legal procedure and has to be sent to the diocese authorities in advance.
After the wedding
Approximately 3 weeks are required to deliver marriage certificates to your home after the wedding ceremony. We use only secured shipment - FEDEX or DHL.
